Tashkent Open International Chess Tournament dedicated to the memory of the first grandmaster of Uzbekistan Georgy Agzamov kicks off in Tashkent. 

The tournament is aimed at further promotion of chess among youth, improving athletes’ experience, wide promotion of opportunities and potential of Uzbekistan Chess School.

Tashkent Open International Chess Tournament, dedicated to the memory of the first grandmaster of Uzbekistan Georgy Agzamov has traditionally been held since 2007.

This year, about two hundred and fifty chess players from Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Spain, Tajikistan, Ukraine, the United States and Uzbekistan are attending this tournament in Swiss system in 9 rounds.
