Tashkent hosts Asian ChampionshipContest of the Asian Youth Championship in wrestling began in "Uzbekistan" sports complex, in Tashkent.
About 400 sportsmen from more than twenty countries of the continent are fighting for the victory at the contest held by the National Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports, the Association of Wrestling of Uzbekistan.
The championship is important in that it will play out vouchers for the III Summer Youth Olympic Games, which will be held in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in October this year. Their owners will be able to compete in the Greco-Roman, freestyle and women's wrestling contests in five weight classes.
30 sets of medals will be played in the current Asian championship. For the first time in the history of the championship, the winners will be awarded a special champion belt along with a gold medal.
