About 500 judokas from 71 countries fought for the victory and rating points to Tokyo Olympics.

Sharofiddin Boltaboyev and Khikmatilla Turayev defeated their rivals and won gold medals. Bekmurod Altibayev, Kamoliddin Rasulov and Gulnoza Matniyozova were awarded silver medals. Sardor Nurillayev and Diyorbek Urozboyev became bronze medalists. 

Following the championships, Uzbekistan national team took the second place in the team event with two gold, bronze and three silver medals.

Russia became first with five gold and two silver medals, while Austria became third with two gold and bronze medals.
