The 68th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe has kicked off in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The 68th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe has kicked off in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The event is attended by over 500 senior representatives of 53 member states of the WHO European Region, ministers of health. The delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Minister of Health A. Shadmanov also takes part in the session.

A wide range of issues in the field of health, including a roadmap for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development will be discussed at the event. Success over the past ten years in the field of public health are being considered. The decisions taken here will be reflected in new strategies, which will largely determine the next steps to improve the population’s health indicators in the region.

The Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Alisher Shadmanov met with WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

A. Shadmanov will also take part in a podium discussion on the experience gained during the implementation of Health 2020 in Uzbekistan.

The session will last until September 19 this year.
