Water supply improves in Kashkadarya

Shakhrisabz hosted an event dedicated to issues of improving water supply in Kashkadarya region.This event, organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the French Development Agency, was attended by workers of the sphere and foreign specialists.
The French Development Agency, which intends to participate in implementation of the Action Strategy on five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021, has developed the first program of its activities in cooperation with Uzbekistan for 2017-2019. In accordance with it, the French development Agency provides for an annual allocation of 150 million euros for implementation of investment projects.
As it was noted, five projects aimed at providing drinking water and reconstruction of sewerage networks will be implemented in a short time in cooperation with the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the French Development Agency. One of the projects will be implemented in Shakhrisabz and Kitab districts. 25.3 million USD will be allocated for this work. Within the framework of the project, it is envisaged that the capacity of wastewater facilities will be increased to 40 thousand cubic meters through reconstruction and expansion. 26.7 kilometers of wastewater networks will be reconstructed, 12.8 kilometers will be re-laid, as well as new pumping stations will be built.
The construction and installation activities within the project will start in 2019.
