Uzbekistan, Turkey strengthen cooperation
Tashkent hosted a roundtable discussion on priority areas and prospects of Uzbekistan – Turkey relations.
The event, organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with Information and Analytical Center of International Relations and Strategy Development Center, was attended by employees of Turkey’s Embassy and Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency.
Views were exchanged on prospects for long-term relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey, taking into account agreements reached following the official visit of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkey.
Participants noted that Uzbekistan and Turkey have huge opportunities in developing business partnership. Turkey's high investment potential and interest in increasing its presence in Uzbekistan market will serve as a basis for development of investment cooperation between the two countries.
The importance of holding joint events to promote enlightened Islam and develop cooperation in culture, science, education, healthcare and sports was noted. Participants were very interested in dialogue on expanding relations in textiles and construction.
The parties expressed their readiness to use all powers and possibilities to strengthen traditional friendship and fraternal ties, further develop large-scale and promising cooperation aimed at improving people’s wellbeing.
