At the workshop, a comparative analysis of religion and the rule of law on Uzbekistan – American example is carried out, studies conducted by leading experts, and scientific-practical conclusions in this direction are presented. At the workshop that continued in Tashkent on November 7, reports of specialists on the topic were heard.
There are more than 2 thousand religious organizations belonging to 16 religious denominations in Uzbekistan. Systematic work to ensure religious tolerance in the country has intensified in recent years. The legislative base of the sphere is being improved, mechanisms of mutual cooperation with public administration and civil society institutions are being developed.
Special resolution of the UN General Assembly “Enlightenment and Religious Tolerance” was adopted on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Following the scientific and practical workshop, proposals will be summarized to strengthen the rule of law, ensure religious freedom, as well as new projects will be recommended.
