Uzbekistan delegation meets with ILO Director-General
On June 16, 2019, Uzbekistan delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister, Chairperson of the Women’s Committee Tanzila Narbayeva met with ILO Director-General Guy Ryder, in Geneva.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation were discussed at the meeting.
Guy Ryder was handed over a Congratulatory Message on behalf of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the ILO.
Highly appreciating the results of his fruitful visit to Uzbekistan last December, the ILO Director-General emphasized that the meeting held in Tashkent with the President of Uzbekistan and the agreements reached at the highest level made it possible to significantly raise the mutual relations of the parties to a qualitatively new level.
The ILO leader welcomed the ratification by Uzbekistan this year of the C144 Convention on Tripartite Consultation (International Labour Standards) and the Additional Protocol to Convention No. 29 on forced labour. The readiness of the ILO Secretariat to assist in practical implementation of these documents was expressed.
Uzbekistan delegation attends the anniversary session of the ILO International Labour Conference, which takes place in Geneva on 10-21 June this year.
