Uzbekistan delegation attends the discussion of the Draft Declaration of Human Rights
Saudi Arabia hosted the 3rd meeting of the intergovernmental working group of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to discuss and finalize the draft Human Rights Declaration, in Jeddah. The event was organized by the Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission.
The event is aimed at preparing the final version of the text of the declaration developed by the OIC Secretariat and the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission. The draft document was prepared in accordance with the decision of the 42nd session of the OIC Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, held in 2015.
The meeting was attended by Uzbekistan delegation led by the First Deputy Director of the National Human Rights Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mirzatilla Tillabayev.
The draft Human Rights Declaration embodied international norms and Islamic values. The new document contains the most basic concepts of the Islamic religion for human rights.
When discussing the draft OIC Human Rights Declaration, representatives of Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Morocco, Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Mauritania, Kuwait, Qatar and other countries expressed their proposals and opinions.
