Uzbekistan delegation attends Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom
Uzbekistan delegation visits the United States on a working visit. The delegation includes the Minister of Justice Ruslanbek Davletov. He is attending the second Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom. At the event, speeches were delivered by the U.S. Vice President Michael Richard Pence and the U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
At the event, the delegation of the country informed the world community about the situation on freedom of conscience in the country, and transformations on ensuring religious freedom. In particular, about the draft law on introducing amendments and additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations”, developed on the basis of roadmaps approved by the chambers of the Oliy Majlis.
It should be noted that for the first time the U.S. Department of State gave a high assessment to the achievements of Uzbekistan during the Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom last year.
According to the Ministry of Justice, within the framework of the working visit, Uzbekistan delegation will take part in the “Capital market opportunities in Uzbekistan” forum in New York, will hold a number of bilateral meetings and negotiations.
