Uzbekistan – China: Cooperation within the framework of One Belt, One Road Initiative continues
Tashkent hosted International Symposium on “One Belt, One Road: dialogue between think tanks and mass media of Uzbekistan and China”.
Representatives of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, ministries and agencies, scientific research institutes, diplomatic corps, mass media workers from both countries attended the event organized by the Development Strategy Center jointly with China Public Diplomacy Association.
As it was noted at the event, today’s symposium envisages the development of bilateral and multilateral plans for the future, further improvement of equal partnership, fully meeting the interests of people. The main goal of the symposium is to establish and strengthen cooperation between think tanks and mass media of Uzbekistan and China.
Uzbekistan supports the projects of One Belt, One Road Initiative on introduction of high technologies in the fields of transport, logistics, trade, investment, energy and industry. Within the framework of cooperation, Uzbekistan actively participates in projects on creating transport and logistics routes connecting Central Asia via China and Russia with the markets of South, Southeast Asia and European countries.
Participants of the symposium exchanged views on issues of Uzbekistan – China cooperation in the field of transport communications, opening new trade and economic corridors, priority tasks and perspectives in tourism, scientific and educational spheres.
During the sectional sessions of the symposium, issues of expanding foreign economic relations of One Belt, One Road participating countries, increasing their investment attractiveness, ensuring mutual rapprochement of people of the region were discussed in detail.
