Uzbekistan appoints National Coordinator
Otabek Kasimov, who has previously worked as the Chief Legal Expert of the Legal Department of the State Committee on Industrial Safety, has been appointed as the National Coordinator of Uzbekistan.
Otabek Kasimov, who has previously worked as the Chief Legal Expert of the Legal Department of the State Committee on Industrial Safety, has been appointed as the National Coordinator of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
O. Kasimov was born in 1987 in Tashkent. In 2008 he graduated Tashkent State Institute of Law. In 2008-2011, he worked as an assistant attorney at the Advocatory Bureau “Legal Guarantor”. He continued his career in various positions. He worked as the chief specialist of the Department of State Supervision and as the Chief Legal Expert of the Legal Department of the State Committee on Industrial Safety (former State Inspectorate “Sanoatgeokontechnazorat”). Along with his main position, O. Kasimov served as an Assistant to the Chairman of the State Committee on Industrial Safety and was responsible on appeals of individuals and legal entities, as well as on performance discipline.
The appointment of the National Coordinator was realized according to the requirements of the Memorandum of Understanding on establishment and functioning of the Regional Secretariat of the Chemical, Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Risk Mitigation Centres of Excellence Initiative, signed on May 18, 2015 in Brussels (Belgium) between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI).
The National coordinator is also the Head of Inspectorate for Supervision of Implementation of the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical and Bacteriological Weapons of the State Committee on Industrial Safety of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
