Uzbekistan announces the Person of the Year
The Federation of Societies for Consumer Rights Protection of Uzbekistan organized an event dedicated to March 15 – World Consumer Rights Day, in Tashkent.
The recognition of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev as the “Person of the Year” in Turkey and South Korea gave all the compatriots a boundless sense of pride and joy. The beginning of such good initiatives in Uzbekistan is an indication that Uzbekistan is keeping pace with the world community. In the implementation of this initiative by a public organization, and not by the state governing bodies and administration, has a deep symbolic meaning. For over the past two and a half years, the activity and role of the “third sector” – non-governmental organizations and civil society institutions in the public life of Uzbekistan people has dramatically increased.
The Public Commission under the Federation of Societies for Consumer Rights Protection of Uzbekistan has launched an initiative to award, starting this year, the heads of foreign states and governments, their members, as well as leaders of Societies for Consumer Rights Protection, who have made a worthy contribution to consumer rights protection, with the Person of the Year award.
In accordance with this, the federation board decided to award the Person of the Year to the Vice President, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his outstanding achievements in comprehensive development of public movement on protecting consumer rights internationally.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who has 50 years of experience in public administration and is recognized as the “architect of modern Dubai”, has been the Vice President and the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates for 13 years. He is the Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai. Grand projects are being implemented in Dubai under his leadership. As a result, this emirate has become one of the largest shopping and entertainment centers in the world.
The special statuette and diploma in the nomination were presented to the Chargé d’Affaires of the United Arab Emirates to Uzbekistan Rashid al-Mazrui.
