Delegation led by the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn visits Uzbekistan.

A meeting with members of the delegation was held at the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It was noted that cooperation in transport, logistics and transit is in the mutual interest of Uzbekistan and Luxembourg.

It should be noted that so far there has been no direct flight between Uzbekistan and Luxembourg. Within the framework of the International Conference on Central Asia in the system of international transport corridors held in September 2018 in Tashkent, representatives of the aviation administrations of the two countries discussed the possibility of implementing commercial flights through Navoi International Intermodal Logistics Center.

Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to develop cooperation projects in this area.

A protocol was signed on air traffic between the aviation administrations of the two countries.

The document will contribute to the legal streamlining of cargo, passenger and charter flights between the two countries, allow Luxembourg’s Cargolux to carry out transit cargo transportation to Asian countries through Navoi International Intermodal Logistics Center from 2020.
