The parties exchanged views on the effectiveness of measures taken to ensure transparency and openness in the sphere.
At the meeting with the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ruslanbek Davletov, measures being implemented in the country to improve the quality of provision of legal services to citizens were considered.
Issues of introducing the institution of mediation as a means of resolving conflicts, improving the system of training qualified legal personnel, providing the population with free legal assistance, combating corruption, improving legislation were discussed.
During the conversation, the implementation of international human rights obligations was analyzed, views were exchanged on the issues of expanding cooperation with UN special structures.
Members of the delegation met with the Chairman of the Chamber of Advocates of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alim Ernazarov.
At the meeting, the need for expanding the scale of measures aimed at guaranteeing the independence of lawyers, protecting their activities, balancing legal relations in the country was noted.
Members of the delegation took part in events organized by the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, met with students receiving a law degree in higher education institutions.
