U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan.

On February 2-3, 2020, U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan, MFA reports.

The delegation of the U.S. Department of State is expected to be received by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan will hold bilateral negotiations. Heads of foreign affairs agencies will discuss the implementation of the agreements within the framework of Uzbekistan – American summit in May 2018 in Washington, and exchange views on the current international agenda.

The U.S. Secretary of State will take part in the ministerial meeting in “Central Asia – USA” (“C5 + 1”) format, in Tashkent.
