Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairperson of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and Forced Labor Tanzila Narbayeva met with a delegation of representatives from the U.S. Department of State and the Department of Labor.

On December 12, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairperson of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and Forced Labor Tanzila Narbayeva met with a delegation of representatives from the U.S. Department of State and the Department of Labor.

At the meeting, views were exchanged on the ongoing large-scale reforms in combating trafficking in human beings and forced labor. In particular, improvement of the national legislation and the process of its unification with international standards were considered.

The guests were provided with information about the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and Forced Labor, the activities of the introduced institute of national rapporteur. Information was provided on the management system, the legal foundations of the work of regional subcommissions formed to prevent human trafficking and forced labor.

The U.S. delegation praised the ongoing work in Uzbekistan to counter forced labor.
