In accordance with the plan of activities for further cooperation with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, approved on June 16, 2017 by a joint decision of Uzbekistan’s Parliament chambers, the issue of accession of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman) to the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions was considered.

The accession of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights to the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions will contribute to bringing reforms on ensuring human rights and freedoms to a new level and improving the mechanisms for human rights protection.

Issues related to the Ombudsman’s activities were discussed at the event.
