A series of publications “Uzbekistan is the pearl of the Silk Road” was prepared with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Austria in conjunction with “Uzbekipaksanoat” Association by the editor-in-chief of the publication – the Tourism Brand Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Austria Gertrud Tauchhammer.

Readers of one of the leading Austrian magazines, published in German and English, can get acquainted with the main provisions of Uzbekistan Development Strategy for 2017-2021, historical and cultural heritage of people and learn much about the current development of Uzbekistan, its tourism potential. Some articles tell about Surkhandarya region, reforms in textile and silk industry.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, about 400 representatives of official, diplomatic, public and business circles of Austria took part in the presentation, including the descendants of Habsburgs family, the founders of the Austrian state. The event was widely covered by the Federal TV channel ORF, the TV channel SocietyTV and a number of print media.

After the ceremony of planting mulberry seedlings specially brought from Uzbekistan, the guests watched the presentation of traditional and modern silk clothes, tasted mulberry tea, which was first produced in Uzbekistan this year on innovative technologies, attended a master class on cooking pilaf.

The “Society” mainly publishes articles on socio-political, economic and cultural topics with a total circulation of 500 thousand copies.
