The First Science and Atom Festival in Uzbekistan has kicked off in Tashkent on November 14.

The First Science and Atom Festival in Uzbekistan has kicked off in Tashkent on November 14.

The opening ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Director General of the Atomic Energy Development Agency under the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Uzatom Agency) Bakhram Mansurov, Director General of Rosatom Central Asia Sergey Gromov, Executive Director of the branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI in Tashkent Alisher Sanetullayev, representatives of Uzatom Agency, Rosatom State Corporation and others.

The event is designed to popularize science and innovation, introduce young people to modern technologies. The program of the Festival includes intellectual games for schoolchildren.

The event is expected to be attended by more than 600 schoolchildren and students.
