Tashkent city khokimiyat hosted a meeting with a delegation led by the Mayor of the Japanese city of Nagoya, Takashi Kawamura.

At the meeting, guests were informed about the large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan, the construction and landscaping activities carried out in the capital, the opportunities created to improve the welfare of the population, and the targeted organization of the social assistance system.

Views were exchanged on the issues of implementing joint projects in tourism, creating amenities for tourists, studying the experience of Nagoya in construction and investment.

Takashi Kawamura noted that in the city of Nagoya there is interest in further strengthening ties with Tashkent, established in cultural, humanitarian, trade, economic, tourism, education, scientific and technical fields, as well as in healthcare. At the initial stage of cooperation, he proposed to establish an exchange of school teachers.

At the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Department for Tourism Development of the city of Tashkent and the Department for Tourism and Culture Promotion of the city of Nagoya.

On the same day, the Japanese delegation got acquainted with conditions created in Uzbekistan for development of tourism, the construction activities carried out in Tashkent, participated in meetings organized at ministries and agencies to determine promising areas of cooperation.
