Tashkent – Ankara: New stage of cooperation

Delegation led by the Mayor of Ankara, Mansur Yavaş, visits Uzbekistan. Within the framework of the visit, a meeting was held with the Khokim of the city of Tashkent, Jakhongir Artikhojayev.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations.
Cooperation between Tashkent and Ankara is of particular importance in the process of developing relations between the two states.
September 16 can be considered a memorable day in the history of relations between the two cities – the parties signed a Memorandum of understanding, cooperation and establishment of fraternal ties at a new level.
Khokim of Tashkent city noted that the document is of great importance in further development of long-term and friendly relations between the two countries and will contribute to strengthening and expanding cooperation in the fields of economy, industry, urban planning, art, culture and tourism.
Mansur Yavaş, in turn, emphasized that currently there are 3 streets in Ankara named after Uzbekistan, 12 streets are called Tashkent, 8 are Samarkand, 11 are Bukhara and suggested to name one of the streets of Tashkent after Ankara.
