In her speech, the Chairperson of the Senate spoke about the tasks set by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to improve the living conditions of the population. The main among them is elimination of this situation in families living in difficult conditions.

As the Head of the state emphasized, about five million people live in poverty in Uzbekistan.

We must be careful in eliminating this social problem. We should not hurt the honor and dignity of people. Our people have strong sense of self-esteem. We cannot tell them directly that they are “poor”.

In addition to poverty reduction, targeted and practical assistance is needed. It is advisable to provide decent work, improve life.

The issue of poverty reduction is being paid attention at the state level. To solve this problem, practical actions will be taken before the end of this year. Activities aimed at organizing a model district in each region also serve these goals. Its significance lies in the fact that in each region a district is defined where there are social problems and difficult living conditions for the population. These issues are being resolved. Until now, similar work has been carried out in Syrdarya and Pakhtakor districts. Senators took an active part in this process. Work will also continue in other areas. Representatives of local Councils will also take part in this process, along with competent employees.
