Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva met with a delegation of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), led by the First Chief Executive Officer Adam Boehler.

During the talks, views were exchanged on further development of a constructive dialogue within the framework of the Parliamentary Group for Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States, “Caucus on Uzbekistan” of the U.S. Congress, conducting democratic reforms and formation of civil society.

The parties discussed issues of expanding cooperation in trade and economy, finance, investment and modern technologies within the framework of bilateral relations.

Following the talks, the American side confirmed its readiness to support parliamentarism in order to further increase the role of parliament in solving problems in socio-economic and socio-political life of Uzbekistan, to assist in organizing internships of members and employees of the parliament in the U.S. Congress to study the American experience, exchange experience in the use of innovative technologies by women who plan to start their own business in Uzbekistan, development of female entrepreneurship in rural areas, as well as in implementation of measures to combat violence against women and prevent trafficking in persons.
