Public transport has been suspended in Tashkent
Public transport will be suspended in Tashkent from March 23. Corresponding decision was made by the Special Republican Commission for prevention of spread of coronavirus in Uzbekistan, the Press Service of Tashkent City Khokimiyat reports.
According to the decision of the khokim, starting Sunday, the movement of public transport (buses, metro and taxis), regardless of the form of ownership, providing services on routes in the territory of Tashkent, is temporarily suspended.
Special disinfected buses will be provided by Tashkent City Transport Department for transportation of medical personnel from hospitals and clinics to and from work, based on the number of employees.
Taxis, disinfected by Tashkent City Center for Sanitary Epidemiological Welfare, will run instead of public transport.
Every taxi will be issued a certificate of disinfection from CSEW on a daily basis. Drivers on transportation of passengers without supervision of CSEW and disinfection will be taken measures in accordance with the procedure established by law.
Responsible persons have been instructed to prevent artificially inflated prices by entities engaged in transportation of passengers by taxi.
