Cooperation agreement signed between the Agency and Association in the middle of last year is reflected in further strengthening and development of bilateral cooperation.

Director of the Agency Sardor Kariyev noted that supporting local production, providing population with affordable and high-quality medicines, reducing imports, producing competitive products and expanding exports are main tasks.

Further goal is to expand cooperation for high-quality implementation of tasks.

Chairman of the Association Shomansur Sadullayev highly appreciated the Agency's initiatives in reforming and developing pharmaceutical industry in Uzbekistan.

The parties discussed the issues faced by local manufacturers in development of pharmaceutical industry, as well as possibility of solving them. Issues of reforming the practice of registration of medicines and their clinical trials, introducing amendments to the legislation and simplifying banking services were discussed.

The need for uniting more than 190 pharmaceutical companies operating in the country, regulating domestic market, promoting implementation of international standards for each enterprises and developing measures for production of original medicines was also noted at the meeting.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to further strengthen relationship between the Agency and Association, hold quarterly meetings and discuss important issues.
