Official Statement: Transition of virus from person to person increases the spread of disease
Head of the State Inspection of Sanitary Epidemiological Supervision under the Cabinet of Ministers, Chief State Sanitary Inspector of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nurmat Otabekov notes:
– On March 25, at 9.00 am, the number of coronavirus cases in Uzbekistan was 55 people. All patients are being treated at the Clinic of Scientific Research Institute of Virology. According to Institute's leadership, 13 patients have signs of lung inflammation – pneumonia. Condition of four people are assessed as serious. They are under intensive care procedures.
More than 20 thousand people are quarantined under medical supervision in special isolation centers opened in medical institutions, dispensaries, sanatoriums of Karakalpakstan, regions and Tashkent.
We constantly remind you to use masks and keep distance while communicating with people. Despite this, there are cases when people are not serious about using masks, do not follow rules for their use. The incidence rate is increasing. Transition of virus from person to person increases the spread of the disease. Do not forget about severe course of this disease and its consequences.
Starting today, people who do not use medical masks will be subject to penalties. We remind you once again that each of you is responsible for your own health, health of family members and relatives, and for stability of epidemiological situation in the country. Remember, no one is immune from the disease. Strictly observe all safety precautions.
