A special attention to the prevention of road accidents in our country is dictated by a noble goal to protect human life.

The Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Road Safety", adopted April 10, 2013 in a new edition, plays a significant role in this regard. The law is an important legal basis for the protection of life and health of citizens, their rights and interests, property, businesses and individuals, the environment.

According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers dated 24 December 2015, aimed at further improvement of rules of the road, a number of changes and additions have been made to the rules. The document, adopted in a new edition, will be take effect starting 1 March 2016.

A press conference, organized by the Head Office of Traffic Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the National Press Center has been dedicated to these novelties and the work in this sphere.

It was noted that the work on improving traffic relations is an important factor in ensuring the safety and health of the population. The ongoing legislative liberalization contributes to the creation of facilities for road users and improving their legal culture.

Ensuring the safety of passengers, particularly children is one of the most important tasks in road transportation. Therefore, the concept of "organized carriage of groups of children" has been introduced in the new rules of the road. Transportation of eight or more children is considered an organized transportation of group of children.

Information and communication technologies are being widely adopted in the sphere. In recent years automatic fixation of violations of traffic rules have been widely used. Therefore, the rules of the road introduced the concept of "photo and video fixation". In addition, information signs "photo and video fixation" is being introduced to warn drivers.

Now pedestrians are forbidden to use distracting items, such as phones, tablets, watch videos, read newspapers, magazines and books when traveling on the road and crossing the road in specially provided places.
