Specific programmes were adopted in localities to provide social support for low-income people in the years 2017-2018. These days, tangible work is being carried out in this area.

In this region, 14.82 bn soms were channelled into the provision of support for 2 thousand 710 families living in difficult conditions.

Special attention is being paid to providing employment opportunities for people and involving people in paid social work.

Unemployed people can work improving areas, repairing houses, facilities providing public utilities and other infrastructure, streets and irrigation networks, doing various kinds of building work and helping elders and people with disabilities if they so desire.

“Quva was chosen as a district for an experiment, and 905 m soms were paid to 1 thousand 880 people for their work. This year, paid social work will be arranged in all the districts of the region, and 15 thousand 882 people will be involved in this work,” says Mirzohid Dehkonov, deputy chief of the employment main directorate of Fergana Region.
