Meeting with veterans in the Museum of the Armed ForcesA meeting of students of military sports classes of general education schools of Yakkasaray district in Tashkent with a group of veterans of war, the Armed Forces, as well as the acting officers, dedicated to the upcoming holiday – the Day of Memory and Honor was held at the State Museum of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Veteran of the Second World War Ivan Semenovich Balabay told about difficulties and hardships on the fronts of the bloodiest of wars in the history of mankind. Uzbekistan made its significant contribution to the victory over fascism, while taking on its land hundreds of thousands of residents evacuated from war-torn territories.
A veteran of the Armed Forces, retired colonel Alexander Kharlamov told about the stages of formation of the national army of Uzbekistan after gaining independence, in particular, the development of helicopter aviation. A story of life of cadets and listeners of a teacher of the Academy of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan Lieutenant-Colonel Dilshod Alimbekov was also very interesting for boys who dream of serving in the army.
On the same day, a meeting of the Central Council for Veterans Affairs of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan was held at the State Museum of the Armed Forces. An organizational issue was considered. Muhitdinov Dilshod Nigmatovich was elected chairman of the Central Council for Veterans Affairs.
Issues related to preparation for the upcoming Day of Memory and Honor were also discussed.
