The Minister conveyed to the French side the message of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed to President Emmanuel Macron with condolences on the death of former French President Jacques Chirac. It was noted that Jacques Chirac was a true leader of his country, his name is associated with the most important milestones in the history of modern France, the growth of its international authority. It was emphasized that President Jacques Chirac made a huge personal contribution to strengthening traditionally friendly relations, partnership between Uzbekistan and France.

On behalf of the French side, the Secretary of State expressed gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his sincere condolences and words of support in connection with bereavement.

Issues on Uzbekistan – France agenda were discussed at the meeting. It was noted that the parties keep under constant control the implementation of agreements reached within the framework of the summit in October 2018 in Paris, and are interested in achieving concrete results in all areas of multifaceted cooperation.

The parties also exchanged views on the schedule of next round of inter-MFA political consultations, the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and other bilateral contacts in 2019-2020.
