Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic Luigi Di Maio, in Rome.

On December 13, 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic Luigi Di Maio, in Rome.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the ministers discussed the status and prospects of further development of cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian fields.

Mutual interest was noted in building up traditionally friendly ties and strengthening partnership in both Uzbekistan – EU format and multilateral structures.

It was noted that the theme of the first forum, which opens on December 13 in Rome, “Italy – Central Asia: Strengthening mutual understanding, cooperation and partnership”, is timely and meets the interests of all its participants.

The Uzbek side welcomed the participation of Italy in the process of stabilization and economic recovery of Afghanistan.

The parties noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of cooperation in tourism and scientific-educational fields. In this regard, the successful work of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, interaction within the framework of the European Union’s “Erasmus+” projects, effective relations between the Republican Graduate School of Business and Management and the MIP Graduate School of Business for training in project management were noted.

Other relevant issues of Uzbekistan – Italy agenda were considered.
