Meeting with Estonian Foreign Minister
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, Urmas Reinsalu, in India.
On January 15, 2020, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, Urmas Reinsalu, in India.
The ministers exchanged views on promising areas for further development of Uzbekistan – Estonian cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other fields.
According to Uzbekistan MFA, the sides confirmed their readiness to intensify interaction between the foreign affairs agencies of the two countries, including by continuing the practice of regular inter-MFA political consultations.
At the meeting, it was proposed to create a joint body that will coordinate economic cooperation and will expand the partnership between the businesspeople of the two countries, and will serve to further strengthen trade, economic and investment ties.
The parties expressed interest in implementing joint projects in the tourism industry. It was emphasized that the introduction by Uzbekistan from February 1, 2019 of a visa-free regime for up to 30 days for citizens of 45 countries, including Estonia, opens up new areas of cooperation in this sphere.
Particular attention was paid to expanding the legal framework of bilateral relations and the proposal to conduct an inventory of the legal foundations of cooperation.
Heads of foreign affairs agencies of Uzbekistan and Estonia also discussed certain international and regional problems.
