Chairman of the Public Council I.Mirzaliev, Chairman of the Council of Trade Unions Federation T.Norboeva, Deputy Defense Minister M.Soliev and others noted that under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov a special attention is paid to the reform of our national army and raising its combat capability and power, training of the military with advanced knowledge and high moral qualities.

The Public Council at the Ministry of Defense, established in accordance with the decree of the head of our state on October 24, 2012, has been making a worthy contribution to the strengthening of ties between our national army and the population, ensuring peace and tranquility.

- Establishment of the Public Council at the Ministry of Defense has become a logical continuation of reforms in the sphere of democratization of the country and building a civil society, - said a member of the Public Council, deputy director of the museum "Memory of Victims of Repression" Murod Zikrillaev. - The work of the Council contributes to the solution of such important tasks as ensuring openness and transparency of the activities of the Ministry of Defense, promoting the participation of citizens and NGOs in the development of the sphere of defense and military affairs, formation of high moral qualities in the military and the youth of pre-conscription age, wide explanation of the work in legal and social protection of servicemen among the population, further enhancing the prestige of military service.

The Public Council approved a work plan for the current year at the meeting.
