Korean investors will contribute to the pharmaceutical industry development
The Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Alisher Shadmanov and Director of the Agency for Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry Sardor Kariyev are visiting the Republic of Korea to expand bilateral cooperation in the field of medicine and pharmaceuticals between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.
On the first day of the visit, Uzbekistan delegation met with the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea Sung Yun-mo, who noted that he was ready to assist in attracting Korean investors for the development of Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical industry.
In Uzbekistan, special attention is paid to attracting investment. In 2018, 96.26 million USD was invested in the pharmaceutical industry in the regions, thanks to which 34 projects were implemented and 1,501 jobs were created.
According to the Ministry of Health, this year it is planned to implement 20 projects in the pharmaceutical industry worth 216.5 million US dollars, to organize 2,218 jobs.
In Uzbekistan, there are 159 domestic pharmaceutical enterprises. Of these, 90 enterprises specialize in production of medicines, 58 – in production of medical products and 11 – in production of diagnostic equipment.
