Journalists and experts meet in Kazakhstan
On May 22-24, Almaty hosted the 16th Eurasian Media Forum.

On May 22-24, Almaty hosted the 16th Eurasian Media Forum. It was attended by media leaders, political scientists, diplomats, public figures, international media experts and journalists.
At the opening ceremony of the forum, greetings of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko were read out. The President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sarkissian and the Akim of the city of Almaty Bauyrzhan Baybek congratulated the participants.
The forum was held in free dialogue format.
International media experts held master classes, roundtable discussions took place.
Forum meetings were devoted to such themes as “Globalization: the world in search of new development models”, “Crisis of consumption”, “Crisis of trust. Global balance of power”, “Bloggers: new rock stars of the virtual world”.
Famous journalists, political scientists, and experts held discussions on issues concerning people all over the world.
Cultural events were organized for the participants and guests of the forum. Winners of competitions held during the year within the framework of the forum were announced.
