Tashkent hosted the first meeting of the Heads of Internal Affairs Bodies of capitals of the CIS Member States.

Delegations of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, as well as competent officers of Internal Affairs Bodies of Uzbekistan and other responsible officers of the Bureau for the Coordination of the Fight Against Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crimes on the Territory of the Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States attended the meeting.

The event is aimed at strengthening and developing cooperation between metropolitan police and Internal Affairs Bodies of the CIS Member States.

Minister of Internal Affairs P. Bobojonov congratulated guests on their arrival in Uzbekistan and noted the importance of establishing large-scale cooperation in the fight against crime.

Views were exchanged on establishment of a group to grant the status of a permanent consultative body for this format meeting and development of regulations on activities in this format.

Participants supported the proposal of the Uzbek side to grant the meeting in Tashkent the status of a permanent working body.
