Importance of innovative approaches to land resources protection

Tashkent hosted a press conference on “Land management and its assessment: new approaches and innovative solutions”.

At the event, organized by the Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Ecology and Environmental Protection jointly with the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Land Resources, Geodesy, Cartography and State Cadaster, National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, experts discussed the issues of improvement of legislation in land resources management and their assessment, soil monitoring, land resources protection and their rational use.

31.4 million hectares of Uzbekistan’s territory consists of arid and semi-arid lands affected by natural salinization, spread of sand drifts, sandstorms and garmsil.

At the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between responsible persons of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Land Resources, Geodesy, Cartography and State Cadaster and the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek.
