PPP Development Agency hosted a meeting with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to assist in development of public infrastructure in Uzbekistan.

EBRD representatives informed about international experience in developing sustainable infrastructure and provided information on ongoing PPP projects in energy, transport and healthcare.

At the meeting, issues related to the need for analyzing transport potential, development of a road sector strategy and a transport sector plan for 2020-2030 were discussed. In addition, special attention was paid to development of alternative methods of financing transport infrastructure.

Matthew Jordan-Tank, Director for Sustainable Infrastructure Policy and Project Preparation at EBRD, expressed his willingness to assist and support the development of the road and transport sector in Uzbekistan, in particular using public-private partnership mechanisms.
