A new specialty of doctoral studies in geo-informatics (PhD) has been opened at Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers within the framework of DSinGIS project: doctorate in the field of geo-informatics of the European Union.

A new specialty of doctoral studies in geo-informatics (PhD) has been opened at Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers within the framework of DSinGIS project: doctorate in the field of geo-informatics of the European Union.

The list of specialties of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel of higher qualification on the basis of the resolution of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of January 26, 2018 includes a new specialty: 11.00.07 - "Geo-informatics".

15 doctors of philosophy will be trained in the country in 2017 – 2020 within the framework of this project, aimed at Uzbekistan’s stable development through geo-information systems and technologies. At the same time, 20 scientific supervisors and scientific advisers will improve their skills in leading higher education institutions of Europe. 18 items of scientific-popular literatures will be created in the direction of geo-information systems and technologies (GIS).

A training workshop was held at Obuda University in Hungary, which is a project coordinator, for implementing these plans.

Following the event, a Memorandum of understanding was signed between Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers and Obuda University.
