The growing dynamics of development of bilateral relations of strategic partnership and alliance, the importance of friendly relations between the heads of the two states were noted at the meeting.

Practical aspects of preparing for the upcoming summit this year were discussed, views were exchanged on the international and regional agenda.

Following the meeting, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Russia signed a Cooperation Program for 2020-2021.

On the same day, the distinguished guest also met with the staff of the branch of Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) in Tashkent.

A graduate of this university S. Lavrov noted with deep satisfaction that the established traditions of an education institution that has passed a glorious and informative path continue in Uzbekistan.

There are branches of 8 higher education institutions of the Russian Federation in Uzbekistan. The basis of the relationship developing every year is the possibility of bringing cooperation in education to a new, higher level.

Sergey Lavrov expressed confidence that students of the branch, taking advantage of the knowledge and skills, will make a worthy contribution in the future to further strengthening the diplomatic relations of Uzbekistan with the world community, including Russia.
