Tashkent hosted a scientific-practical conference on “Central Asia – our common home” within the framework of Tolerance Week, held by the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The conference was attended by representatives of diplomatic corps in Uzbekistan, senior officials of international organizations, heads of various ministries and agencies, public institutions, employees of national cultural centers, scientists, experts, and activists of friendship societies.

Issues such as further expansion of cooperation between Central Asian countries in cultural and humanitarian sphere, strengthening the role of people’s democracy in strengthening mutual relations, priority aspects of strengthening friendly relations and partnership between Uzbekistan and Central Asian countries, the role of national cultural centers and friendship societies in people’s diplomacy were discussed in detail.

A memorandum was signed between the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries and the State Agency on Local Self-Governmental and Inter-Ethnic Relations under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
