Certificates are given to winnersAn event has taken place in Andijon. It was devoted to further strengthening of social partnership among state bodies, nongovernmental non-profit organizations and other institutions of civil society in ensuring implementation of programmes of regions’ socio-economic development.
The event was arranged by the public commission for social partnership at the Andijon Regional council of people’s deputies jointly with the public foundation for supporting nongovernmental non-profit organizations and other institutions of civil society at the Oliy Majlis (parliament) of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and those of local councils, the chiefs of nongovernmental non-profit organizations functioning in the region and workers of the mass media attended the event.
It was emphasized that the 2017-2021 Strategy on five priority areas of the development of the Republic of Uzbekistan serves as an important document for action for improving the work of civil society institutions and for further raising their social activeness and also for the effectiveness of social partnership.
Opinions were exchanged on issues of further strengthening cooperation between state bodies and nongovernmental non-profit organizations and improving the work of the public commission for social partnership at the Regional council of people’s deputies.
“In our country, the amount and scale of financial support for socially significant projects of nongovernmental non-profit organizations and also subsidies and financial support in the form of state grants for the mass media are increasing with every passing year”, says Tolkinjon Karimov, a deputy of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis and member of the commission.
Certificates were given to nongovernmental non-profit organizations and mass media outlets which had won in a grant contest conducted by the public foundation in 2017.
