Tashkent hosted the third regional Ombudsmen consultations of Central Asian countries.
The main objective of the event is search for effective solutions to problems in human rights protection in the Central Asian region, joint development of clear mechanisms for their elimination. In this area, international standards, normative and legal documents become important.
At the meeting, representatives of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan dwelt on the state of activities carried out in their countries in human rights, the activities of the Ombudsman.
Following the regional consultations, a roadmap was adopted to strengthen cooperation. Suggestions, opinions on the tasks outlined in the Action Plan were made.
On the same day, the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sodik Safoyev met with participants of the regional consultations of Central Asia Ombudsmen.
Views were exchanged on further expansion of the regional cooperation in ensuring human rights.
