A webinar to discuss the development of the agricultural sector of Uzbekistan, its investment and export potential, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London, the British company Eurasian Investor with the support of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade and the British Embassy in Tashkent, was held via videoconference.

The event was attended by over 100 representatives of business, expert and media circles of Uzbekistan, the UK and Ireland.

Managing Director of Strategic Solutions consulting company Simon Glancy, CEO of BAT Uzbekistan LLC JV Igor Kolesnikov, CEO of AKS Service Group Wais Qais, heads of Uzbekistan’s BMB Trade Group Bekzod Mamatkulov and GDF, Husan Haydarov delivered speeches at the event.

The importance of the agricultural sector in the economy of Uzbekistan was noted in terms of ensuring economic growth, employment and incomes of the population, the process of deep modernization of the industry within the framework of large-scale reforms initiated by the leadership of the country.

Great opportunities for cooperation with foreign countries, including the UK in the context of export deliveries of agricultural products, as well as creation of joint projects in the agricultural sector of the country, primarily in intensive and high-tech agriculture, were highlighted.

An agreement was reached with the British Eurasian Investor to continue the practice of organizing thematic webinars on Uzbekistan and issues of bilateral cooperation.
