On October 16, 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who arrived in Nur-Sultan to attend the 12th Cooperation Forum “Republic of Korea – Central Asia”, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Kang Kyung-wha, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The ministers reviewed the progress of implementation of multifaceted agreements reached on April 18-21 within the framework of the state visit of President Moon Jae-in to Uzbekistan and negotiations with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The parties noted with satisfaction the dynamic nature of bilateral relations in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other fields. In the first half of 2019, the trade turnover reached 1.8 billion USD, which is 75% higher than the same period last year.

Mechanisms for further implementation of joint investment, as well as socially significant projects, prospects for cooperation in implementation of “electronic government”, information-communication technologies, education, health and agriculture were considered at the meeting.

Foreign ministers exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual interest.
