Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov has received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Portuguese Republic with the residence in Moscow, João Paulo Lopes do Reg Viseu Pinheiro.

On October 4, 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Portuguese Republic with the residence in Moscow, João Paulo Lopes do Reg Viseu Pinheiro, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

Accepting credentials, the Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in a high and responsible post.

At the meeting, the current state and prospects of Uzbekistan – Portuguese interaction in a bilateral format and within the framework of Uzbekistan – EU dialogue were considered.

Mutual interest was noted in further deepening cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, tourism sectors, in education, science and health.

It was emphasized that the resumption of regular consultations between the foreign affairs agencies of the two countries on the entire common agenda will allow focusing on promising areas and specific projects and working together on their implementation.

Views were also exchanged on the issues of an international and regional agenda.
