Leading world experts in nuclear physics will gather in Uzbekistan
On September 12-15, Uzbekistan will host the 20th Annual RDMS CMS Collaboration Conference “Physics at the Large Hadron Collider”.
The organizers of the event are the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the country, Samarkand State University, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Russia) and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (Switzerland).
According to the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the conference will be attended by more than 60 scientists from 9 countries, including physicists from the United States, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, India, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus and more than 30 Uzbekistan’s specialists in nuclear physics and elementary particle physics from scientific research institutes and universities of Uzbekistan. The conference will be held in two cities – Tashkent and Samarkand.
A number of important issues facing contemporary nuclear physics and elementary particle physics will be considered at the conference. In particular, the results and short-term prospects of research in physics at the Large Hadron Collider, prospects for research in physics at the modernized Large Hadron Collider, modernization and detection of Phase II CMS in the long term prospects will be studied.
