Parents familiarize themselves with their children’s living conditions in military service A video dialogue entitled “My son is a defender of the Motherland” has taken place in Nukus with the participation of soldiers performing their manly duty in the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston and Jizzakh Region and their parents.

The event was conducted on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Motherland Defenders Day. It was especially emphasized during the video event that under the leadership of the country’s First President this professional national army had been formed, that the army is able to ensure peace in the country, the inviolability of its borders and the people’s tranquillity, that its organizational structure is proper and that it was provided with modern weapons, equipment and qualified personnel.

Z.Ibrohimova, chairperson of the women’s committee of the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston and deputy chairperson of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston; Colonel I.Mallayev, commander of the north-western military district’s troops; O.Doniyorov, chairman of the Qorapalpoghiston council of the Kamolot public youth movement; and others said that it is a honourable duty of every young man to serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan, that a whole range of privileges and possibilities had been created by the state for soldiers doing fixed-term military service and that these strong lofty feelings in their hearts and minds made their parents kind of proud.

During the video dialogue, the parents and close relatives of soldiers performing their manly duty at military units in Jizzakh Region and the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston familiarized themselves with their children’s military life and conditions created for them, and they expressed their holiday wishes.

“My son Doston Anorboyev is doing fixed-term military service in Jizzakh Region. He graduated from the Qunghirot agricultural vocational college and then was called up for military service. We have five children. Doston is our family’s second son, and he had dreamt of doing military service like his brother. His dream came true. Via that video dialogue I was very glad to see my son. Commanders praised my son, which lifted my spirit,” says Hayitbike Uzoqboyeva living in the Hamza steppe village citizens’ gathering in Qunghirot District.

Soldiers performing their manly duty in places far away from their home and beloved village for the Motherland told their parents about their military service.

“I graduated from the Tashkent college of law, and I was called up for fixed-term military service from Zomin District of Jizzakh Region. Now I am doing military service at a military unit in the town of Nukus. Here all the necessary conditions have been created. In future, I want to continue my studies at a higher educational establishment and become a good specialist,” says private Farruh Nabiyev.

At the conclusion of the video dialogue, a concert programme was shown by creative groups and prominent artistes.
