A meeting was held in Rome between Mansurbek Olloyorov, Director of the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Marina Elvira Calderone, Minister of Labour and Social Policies of Italy.

The parties discussed issues related to improving the quality of social services, developing programs to empower vulnerable groups, enhancing the social insurance system, strengthening the capacity of social workers, and advancing social protection systems at both national and regional levels. Particular attention was given to inclusive employment, vocational training, and the development of third-sector social services based on Italy’s experience.

During the talks, the sides also explored the possibility of signing a framework document on cooperation, which would represent an essential step toward deepening collaboration between Uzbekistan and Italy in the social sphere.
